5 Parts to a Successful Agency House

Agency Management at Work

Running an agency doesn’t have to be difficult if you use the right approach. In this blog, we’ll share the Agency House model. With these five components, you can crush scaling your agency through effective agency management.

Power

First, think about the things that power your agency. Appointments you set per month, average sales cycle length, average closing rate, average deal size, and average LTV are the marketing and sales metrics that keep you up and running. Want to bring more power? You need to track these numbers and improve them.

Foundation

Outside of power, the foundation is the most important aspect of your agency management model. If your foundation is weak, your agency can crumble. The foundation is simple, start with your strategy. What are you doing to promote success? Are you starting with the end in mind? This can be easy to forget, but you should be devoting time each week to your most important work.

Secondly, margins mean everything. The only thing that matters is your bottom line. If you don’t profit well, business becomes harder. Keep your org charts connected to your goals, KPIs, and expectations and you will thrive.

Finally, the last piece of your foundation is your software. This is where you house your learning management system and project management system. This should be highly functional and the foundational tool of where everything goes.

Bricks

Once your foundation is set, you can move up to stacking your house’s bricks that make up your agency management system. Your bricks are how you do business and include things such as sourcing, hiring, interviewing, onboarding and training, fulfillment and operations, and customer service.

Cement

What most agencies seem to overlook after laying the bricks is the cement that keeps everything together in your house and within your agency management.  There are three areas that you need to focus on to hold your business together, starting with management and HR systems. So few agencies put a focus on this area of their business, but if you crush management, you will crush everything.

Secondly, meetings are highly misunderstood. There has been a big movement to eradicate meetings, but the right meetings can keep your agency on track. Finally, you need consistent data. The more information you can provide your agency, the better.

Culture

The final component of your house is culture. Culture is what your people say and do when you’re not around. Barely anyone understands culture, but if you are able to foster a positive culture in the workplace, all areas of the organization begin to run smoothly. Your agency management style has a huge influence on your agency’s culture

Once you align all these components, you will dominate. An epic agency doesn’t become an epic agency without all of them. If you are someone that is looking to scale their agency, start with one system at a time.  Start with power and work your way up, continuing to add value to your agency.
